The Bellabeat Leaf Fitness Tracker Review.



I've never had a fitness tracker. So many of my clients have had them and most were unsatisfied or just sopped wearing them. The most popular tracker with the best feedback has been the Fitbit Flex. I came very close to purchasing one but I've decided to try the new Bellabeat LEAF. Maybe because it's aimed at women and it's more attractive but the true test will be in it's performance.

I've been wearing my Leaf for four months and I really love it. It is a simple tracker and even with my active lifestyle it's just enough to fit my needs.  As a personal trainer I'm on my feet most of the day but even I was surprised to see that I didn't move as much as I would like. Since I've had the Bellabeat Leaf I've increased my activity time and made sure I get those steps in. In fact, as I sit at my computer writing this it's vibrating to tell me I haven't moved in a while. Time to take a little break!

With the Leaf I'm able to set my Leaf to remind me if I haven't been active in one and a half hours and I can further personalize it to not disturb me during certain hours so my sleep isn't interrupted! I can also set my activity goals in Steps or Active time and it goes one step further to adjust the goal I want to active or pro, or somewhere in between.  It also had breathing exercises with guided instructions. I don't do these as often as I would like but it's similar to a meditation and I feel relaxed and calm after. The Leaf also helps you track your menstrual cycles and pregnancy for those who are interested. If you don't wish to follow these you can turn them off and they don't show in your home screen.

The last feature I use is the alarm. The Leaf vibrates gently for all your reminders even the alarm. It's an easy and gentle way to start your day as opposed to the upsetting loud sounds that jolt you out of bed. I wake at 5am M-F so my settings are easy but you can customize your days if these times vary. Say you have a 6am appointment with your trainer on Tuesdays and Thursdays, you can set an alarm for 5am those days and an alternative alarm for the other days of the week. You can set up to three different alarm settings. It also had a 4th option for tracking your oral contraception, which can be very important for those you need a daily reminder!

Not only is it attractive but it's been a useful tool and keeps me moving.  The best part is no one knows it's a fitness tracker, unless I tell them, but they all think it's just an attractive piece of jewelry. I've been getting compliments on it almost daily! That's a win win in my book.

In short, I really love my Bellabeat Leaf.
